Peridium 20-30 mm broad x 15-20 mm tall, hemispherical to cushionshaped, resting on a concave base at the apex of the Stem; surface glabrous, dry, persistent, white with scattered small holes through which the Spores are released. Gleba powdery, rusty brown. Stem 100-200 x 8-10 mm, cylindrical, arising from a well-developed volva, dry, hard and woody, fibrous, sulcate, white to cream. Volva cup-shaped, tough, dingy white, often buried. Spore deposit cinnamon brown. Edibility: unknown.
