Cap 10-35 mm broad x 10-20 mm tall, ovoid to sub- cylindrical becoming obtusely conical, striate, dry, covered with tiny, white to silvery glistening granules when young, glabrous in age, light brown to yellowish brown when young, becoming grayish brown to cream or tan, finally black when deliquescing. Gillss free, crowded, broad, white becoming black. Stem 30-70 x 2-4 mm, cylindrical above a clavate base, hollow, brittle, glabrous above, tomentose below, white with a grayish brown base. Spore Deposit black. Edibility: edible.
