Fruting Body hypogeous, separating into three distinct layers. Mycelial layer encrusting debris, cuplike and buried in soil. Middle layer evaginating and splitting into 4-5 recurved arms resting at their tips on the mycelial cup (i.e., fornicate), brown to beige, inner surface sometimes cracked. Endoperidium 10-20 mm broad, subglobose to turbinate with an annular ridge at the base (apophysis), elevated on a short Stem, surface minutely hairy, grayish brown; peristome indistinctly delimited, fibril- lose. Spores brown. Edibility: unknown.
