Fruiting Bodies ovoid to pyriform when young. Exoperidium separating from endoperidium and splitting into 5-7 rays, 30-50 mm broad, outer surface not adhering debris, felted to scurfy, ornamentation brown over pink to cream, attached basally to the soil by coarse white rhizomorphs, rays recurved, inner surface orangish white to pinkish buff. Endoperidium 10-15 mm broad, sessile, glabrous, gray to grayish brown; peristome well delimited, fibrillose (never sulcate), surrounded by a dark ring. Spores dark grayish brown. Edibility: unknown.
