Cap 30-50 mm broad x 15-20 mm deep x 4-6 mm thick, fan-shaped, sometimes imbricate, single; surface knobby to radially undulate, finely tomentose becoming glabrous in age, tough and leathery, usually not zonate, brown to cinnamon brown with grayish margin. Spore surface of radially elongate pores (daedaleoid), 2-4 per mm, 1-4 mm deep, edges even, pale brown to brownish orange. Stem absent. Spore Deposit white. Edibility: too tough to eat.
