Cap 20-40 mm broad, convex-umbilicate but soon funnel-shaped, with appressed-fibrillose scales and a hairy margin, glabrous in age, tough and leathery, yellowish brown to brown. Pores radially arranged, large and angular with ragged edges, white to off-white. Stem 20-40 x 2-3 mm, cylindrical, solid, tough, glabrous, yellowish brown to brown. Spore Deposit white. Edibility: edible but too tough to eat.
