Peridium 10-18 mm broad x 8-10 mm tall, hemispherical to ovoid, tough, glabrous, dingy white, with a single, central, apical pore through which the Spores are released; base of spore sac often with a thin layer of brown mycelium that adheres sandy soil. Gleba powdery, brown. Stem 20-40 x 2-4 mm, entirely buried in soil, cylindrical with a small basal bulb, tough and woody, scaly pale orangish brown. Spores brown. Edibility: unknown.
