Cap 20-60 mm broad, convex with inrolled margin when young, soon funnel-shaped, densely covered with long, white to pale brown erect hairs, remaining hairy on the margin and becoming glabrous and slightly striate on the margin in age, leathery, cinnamon brown to brown with darker concentric zones. Gillss decurrent, densely crowded, narrow, white to yellowish brown. Stem 15-30 x 3-6 mm, cylindrical with flared apex, with small tufts of hairs, tough, white above, dark brown below. Spore Deposit white. Edibility: edible but too tough to eat.
