Cap 20-85 mm broad, convex with inrolled margin when young, soon funnel-shaped, velvety or densely covered with short, brown erect hairs, remaining hairy in the center and becoming glabrous and slightly striate on the margin in age, leathery, cinnamon brown to brown with darker concentric zones. Gillss decurrent, densely crowded, very narrow, cream-colored, drying brown. Stem 20-60 x 3-10 mm, cylindrical above a swollen base, velvety, tough, cinnamon brown to brown. Spore Deposit white. Edibility: edible but too tough to eat.
