Cap 40-50 mm broad, hemispherical to broadly convex, dry, glabrous, white over-all, sometimes becoming silvery gray and cracked when sun dried. Gills adnexed, close, broad, mottled grayish black. Stem 70-100 x 3-6 mm, cylindrical or enlarged downward, solid, pruinose, longitudinally striate at the apex, white. Spore deposit black. Edibility: edible but not recommended because of toxic and hallucinogenic mimics.
