Cap 20-40 mm broad, parabolic to obtusely conical, sub- viscid, glabrous, wrinkled, cinnamon buff when young, fading in age to white. Gills adnexed, close, broad, mottled grayish black with white edges. Stem 60-100 x 4-7 mm, cylindrical above a subbulbous base, solid, fibrous, pruinose, white to cinnamon buff; with a persistent, membranous, white, flaring annulus nearthe apex. Spore deposit black. Edibility: edible but not recommended because of toxic and hallucinogenic mimics.
