Cap 30-40 mm broad, convex expanding to broadly convex, moist to dry, hygrophanous, glabrous, sometimes centrally wrinkled, cinnamon brown in the center, surrounded by a grayish buff or tan zone and a ring of brown to dark brown at the margin. Gills adnexed, close, broad, mottled grayish black with white edges. Stem 40-60 x 2-3 mm, cylindrical, twisted-fibrous, grayish brown to pinkish brown beneath white fibrils; no partial veil. Spore deposit black. Edibility: poisonous when raw, mildly hallucinogenic.
