Cap 40-60 mm broad x 15-25 mm radius x 1 mm thick, sessile, fanlike, margin even to wavy, sometimes lobed, often in imbricate clusters; surface hirsute to tomentose, zonate, with concentric zones of buff, gray, bluish gray, brown, and reddish brown; texture tough and leathery. Pores round to angular, 4-5 per mm, cream- colored; tubes in a single layer, 1-3 mm long. Stem absent. Spore Deposit white. Edibility; edible but too tough to eat.
